The iMED Mentorship Program is a new project adopted by iMED in an effort to provide or paid members with more resources beneficial to their college careers and academic success. This program aims to introduce undergraduates at the University of California, Irvine to alumni from our school that are or will be attending a US Medical School.
Through constant interaction between mentors and mentees, it is our vision that our members will gain a better understanding of the process of applying to medical school, studying and taking the MCATs, going through the interview process etc.
The program applications will be available late Fall Quarter 2009 and will be due at the end of the quarter. During winter break, applications will be reviewed and starting Winter Quarter, members admitted into the program will receive the necessary information regarding their mentors, personal info, contact info etc. The program will last for 2 full quarters (Winter and Spring), and at the end, all we require is that mentors and mentees fill out an evaluation form so future executive boards can improve the program and provide our members with even better services!
