What is iMED?
iMED stands for “International Medicine, Education and Development.” We are the UCIrvine chapter of FIMRC (the Foundation for the Medical Relief of Children). Our mission is to increase medical care access and health education for underprivileged and medically under-served children at home, over the border, and over seas.
When was iMED founded?
iMED was founded in 2007, and in only 3 years we’ve been on numerous Orphanage, HealthSmart and Global Actions trips. Every year we add more trips under our belt. Just go to our filmstrip page and check out some pictures!
Where are iMED’s meeting places/times?
iMed members meet for general meetings at the Cross Cultural Center Dr. White Room every ODD Wednesday at 4PM. The Cross is located across the street from Starbucks, next to the Career Center. For more info, please check out the map below!

How do I get involved?
EASY! Just come to our meetings, fill out an application, submit it with the $25 registration fee and there you go! You will be able to get involved in our projects and get a free T-Shirt!
Why must I pay money to volunteer my time?
Its very ironic that while we donate our time, we must pay money as well. The funds from membership help us organize the different events that you can take advantage of, from bringing speakers, to providing food and fundraising. Remaining funds are also disbursed to the different projects for supplies, travel costs etc.
I’m really interested in joining but I have class during general meetings. Can I still be a member?
DEFINITELY! General Meetings are where you get updates and information about the different projects and any fundraisers/social events that we have planned. While we encourage our members to try to attend all meetings, you can still get involved in the projects and in our events outside general meeting times. We do encourage you to try to set your schedule for the next quarter around our general meeting times.
How can I get involved with iMED?
There are many ways you can help out! You can get involved with one of our projects, help with fundraising events, marketing, running meetings etc. Just ask one of the board members and they will be happy to help.
